UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF
PRE & POST-REPAIR SCANS
Many modern cars feature diagnostic and crash avoidance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist, Vehicle Stability, Collision Avoidance, Blind Spot Detection, Back Up Cameras, Front & Rear Radar, Side impact Pre-Tensioners, Heads Up Display, and Self Parking.
To maintain these vitally important systems following an accident, Heritage Auto Body uses specialized, cost-effective AirPro Diagnostics scanning equipment. Heritage scans pre-repair to search for damaged components and fault codes (many of which do NOT show on the dashboard); and post-repair to to be sure components have been replaced, repaired or re-calibrated, and codes have been cleared.
Unfortunately, consumers need to be aware of two scanning issues prevalent in the automotive repair industry today.
First, it’s common that competing repair shops either don’t know these systems need to be checked or don’t possess the diagnostic equipment to properly identify issues.
And, second, some insurance companies are not familiar with these systems, don’t require scans as part of repairs, and even refuse to pay for scans.
At Heritage Auto Body we refuse to compromise on safety issues and our decades of experience serves to aid our customers in navigating insurance issues.
